got screwed over!
DESCRIPTION: Had dinner with 12 other people from work. They knew this was an "expense" dinner so they offered us the more expensive items first (like the $8 salads instead of the $6 ones) and "family-style appetizers" which wind up costing almost $25 per person...MORE THAN THE ENTREES!!! How ridiculous. And the portion each person received was not worth $25. I would have been cheaper if everyone got their own appetizer...we got screwed over and will never return there again. Overpriced for the food and atmosphere.

South Philly in the Suburbs
DESCRIPTION: From hoagies to chicken cutlets to hot roast beef and homemade meatballs, this place has it all. All sandwiches are made on fresh crusty bread from Philadelphia. The hoagies are the best with enough meat in them to make another sandwich. The homemade roast beef and roast pork is like no other. I give this place two thumbs up.

Best Roast Beef hogies.....ever
DESCRIPTION: When we lived in Newtown Square, we had their roast beef hoagies every Friday night. It was our ritual. Now that we moved to Kennett Square, I have not been able to find anything close out here. I miss our little Friday night ritual. Even though I still stop in when I'm anywhere near the deli to pick up sandwiches, I wish they would open a second place out here. I actually saw a store front in a shopping center that said A Cut Above. I was so excited, only to find out it was a hair salon. WHAAAA(*sniff*sniff)

Traveling cross country for an Italian hogie!
DESCRIPTION: My boyfriend, myself, and a few friends I live with in San Diego are from this area originally...and we LOVE THIS sandwich shop in particular! It's worth traveling across the country for! My fav and his...the italian hogie of course! It's not just ANY version! It's a MUST TRY!! And the staff is also outa sight!

The Bread makes it - the cranks don't
DESCRIPTION: Yes we love A Cut Above Hoagies, the bread from Sarcones is incredibly chewy and is a total counterpoint to the meat. However, they tend to run out of 2 things by the afternoon/evening....the Sarcones Bread and patience ! The guys can be rather Hoagie Nazi-esque...now my friends live in Providence RI ( home to a zillion Italian places for Grinders ) and when they come to NSq they bring them home with them, so that says something, but why do people in the service industry end up so crabby ?? its a hoagie - people, not molecular biology ! PS still love the food and even the cranky molecular biologists behind the counter.

Don't miss it OH SO WONDERFUL
DESCRIPTION: Went there just for the crab on Monday true the crab was wonderful 19.95 all you can eat either Dungeness or Alaskan King came with a salad and vegetable. YUMMMMM My dining companion had the Scrod over rice pilaf....and we had his remaining this evening. Wonderful warm rolls extensive bar with beers on tap that you rarely see on the East Coast very classy without being stuffy. The night we were there an employee gave some regulars some fresh tomatoes as they had just received their shipment and wanted to share the wealth :) Nice touch. There is a player piano when the regular pianist Johnathan is not there. Very attentive wait staff without being intrusive. Quaint private rooms for catering/meetings. I have just printed the menu off for our next trip there this Friday :) Hope to make it for all you can eat crab again next Monday. Worth the trip from Philadelphia and even better if you are in the West Chester area not a far trip at all :)
