DESCRIPTION: Still the best cheeseburgers in town, with the best green chile in the world..."Hatch Green Chiles" of course! The chicken sticks, w/fries, Texas Toast, and cream gravy are tasty also. Needless to say, ditto the ice cream menu. A good place to take a break when traveling between El Paso and Albuquerque.

DESCRIPTION: Dear Review Friends Food and Games, Food-The dishes I tried were Canadian bacon pizza and a salad with goat cheese, mozzarella cheese shredded on top, croutons, and Fat Free Rasberry Vinegarette Dressing. The texture was outstanding. The presentation was quite enjoyable and yes, it did arrive hot from the kitchen. It was just right, not too spicy but not too mild. Well, there was a Hawaiin pizza I didn't try. That sounded interesting. The portions were very generous. They gave you lots of Canadian bacon and cheese. Service-Yes, our waiter was very helpful. Yes, he could answer questions about the menu. Plates weren't cleared away real quickly, but they were cleared away fairly quickly, which I think was quickly enough in my opinion. I didn't have water, I had Diet Coke and "Yes, my Diet Coke was refilled quickly." We had a little bit of trouble attracting our waiter's attention to get a to go box. My daddy ordered Eggplant Parmigan, but yes, they did handle it properly. The bill arrived at an incredibly accurate time. No, we did not feel rushed. Ambiance-"Yes, I would say that the restaurant was clean." It didn't have a distinctive style or theme. Very polite and well dressed people frequent the place. No, the music was at just the right volume. There was a little noise from the kitchen, but not a lot. Yes, the bathrooms were incredibly clean. Other-I would choose it before I chose any pizza place like Pizza Hut, Cici's Pizza, Godfather's Pizza, Little Caeser's, or Domino's Pizza. Yes, I did feel we got a good deal for the price. It would good for a romantic dinner, kid's birthday party, a date with your boyfriend, or a company business meeting. Your New Friend, Cassie

The best hidden secret of Hatch
DESCRIPTION: The most absolutely incredible food I have eaten in years. I recommend The Valley Cafe to anyone looking for that OLD TASTE, not the fast food Taco Bell-type taste.

Delightful restaurant with great food
DESCRIPTION: The green chile bowl was the best chile (red or green) I ever tasted anywhere. Not thick and sticky, more like a delicious chile soup. My wife and I tried both the red chile bowl and the green chile bowl and swapped back and forth. We agree both were excellent but the green was outstanding in our opinion. More of a variety of ingredients, tomatoes, pork, beans, chopped green chiles, chopped tomatoes and just excellent flavor. Both bowls were also huge servings for a very reasonable price (less than $4 each as I recall) served with all the warm soft tortillas you want in a very friendly hometown restaurant, filled with locals. I would love to get their recipe for that green chile.

Very Good New Mexican Cuisine
DESCRIPTION: The Pepper Pot is a friendly little restaurant in the Chile Capital of America. Service is friendly, but not especially attentive. Ambiance is OK; tables are not crowded and the place is clean. Food is very good and reasonably priced. We had enchiladas with meat filling and a combo plate. Taco was mediocre with a hard shell-- unusual in these parts. Hamburger meat, not highly seasoned. Chile relleno with green chile sauce and cheese was very good. Enchiladas with red and green very good..green sauce delicious. Chips good...spicy salsa..a mix of red and green chile...very good. Beans and rice average. I do think there was too much cheese on top of the food, but otherwise it was very good. From what I observed, this is probably the best restaurant around Hatch.
