DESCRIPTION: Absolutely incredible...You can't see the interior of the restaurant from the entrance area. The menu is on display and the line moves quickly. When we got to the front of the line, I could read the cash register totals - mostly in 3 digit amounts with families of 4 or more. "I am not that hungry!" I whispered to my husband....."But honey, where can you eat lobster and hundreds of other entrees for less than $25 a plate and go back for seconds? Besides, the the guy in front of us said they have a fantastic gourmet dessert bar! Ok, I said, then "you" pay.... Oh, my gosh.. We spent 2 hours in there, the presentation was beautiful, the servers at each buffett were very professional. I didn't know wheather to start at the end of the room or at the beginning! And, we didn't waddle out of there. We walked! The food was cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back! I have saved enough money to pay for our next visit. Definately a 5 star experience.

Great food, pricey
DESCRIPTION: We used to eat at The Summit a few times a year, but just returned for the first time in quite a while. It's been nicely updated, still the same friendly piano player and a nice view from some seats (but this isn't the best "view" restaurant at Harrah's). The food is always presented very nicely, in conservatively creative dishes. My husband's only comment was that his salmon was dry. My food was all very good. Be forewarned, prices were the highest I've seen anywhere. If you're comp'd by the casino, it's of no concern. Otherwise, be prepared. Two of the entrees were in the $60's (a la carte). The service was the primary complaint this visit. Our waiter (who's been there for years) was very tense and rushed. He and another waiter were seen *running* through the (very formal) dining room at times. We also felt there was an attempt to oversell: Our waiter told us and a neighboring table that the dessert souffles could serve one *or* two people. Thankfully, we chose to split ours. However, we saw our neighboring table of 4 with 4 separate souffles. The diners had looks of horror on their faces when the souffles were delivered. They were beautiful, but way too large to be considered a single serving. No one at the table finished his souffle. At $16 each, it felt like the waiter was trying to pad the bill. There were also a few accidents (things falling down from the balcony above) which is forgivable, but the restaurant seemed understaffed which may have contributed to the waiters' stress. Finally, a minor but odd thing - I'd ordered a latte, but was given a cappuccino. (The server called it that too.) I nicely asked about the latte and was asked in reply for my definition of a latte - that's a first. I replied that it had more steamed milk than a cappuccino. I was then told that this cappuccino had half and half, not milk, so did that make up for it? (He was trying to be playful - but why half and half in a cappuccino?) I said it was fine, but could I have just a little extra milk on the side to add. He happily brought me milk - but ice cold. He missed the point. Fussy me, I know. At $80 - $100 per person, (or a lot more if you have expensive taste in wine), I expected better overall service, and a basic knowledge of simple espresso drinks.
